Mission Statement: To bring together people in Washington state with the common goal to increase student participation and safety in walking, rolling, or taking a bus to school. By sharing best practices, innovative ideas, and researched resources, we work to improve student safety and health, and to create more equitable and environmentally sustainable communities.

On March 24, 2022, twenty-three people from across Washington came together to discuss crossing guard programs. The participants focused on recruitment, funding, and training of crossing guards, as well as ways to start a safety patrol. A small group of people active in local and statewide SRTS efforts have been meeting monthly to reinvigorate the Washington SRTS Network, with the goal to connect practitioners across the state.
